![]() In the 2002 He-Man cartoon (which like the 2011 Thundercats is reboot with more of a focus on story and continuity) He-Man and Teela visit a village of cat people in one episode. One possibility for her origins is that like Adora, Catra is from Eternia. It's possible that like Adora, she too came from another world. Almost nothing is known about her past before she met Adora as a child, other than the fact that she was an orphan, but how she lost her parents and how she came to be part of the Horde is a mystery. She looks like she came straight out of the 2011 reboot and would be right at home among the Thundarans. So what are the potential in-universe connections, if any? For this I'll mostly be comparing it to the 2011 Thundercats reboot.įirst off, there's Catra. Perhaps with this He-Man/Thundercats crossover comic fresh in mind, she could have partially based Catra's look on that of a Thundaran as sort of a homage or easter egg to the Thundercats. Noelle Stevenson has worked in comics before and might have been aware of this comic crossover, and much like how she was a fan of the original She-Ra and He-man growing up she could have also been a fan of the original Thundercats as well, which would have been airing at the same time as those shows. ![]() Back in 2016, a comic miniseries crossover between He-man and Thundercats was released, and 2016 was right around the time when She-Ra first started production. The idea of a She-Ra/He-man and Thundercats crossover is not completely unheard off. This is mostly just a fun speculation that would make for an interesting crossover that would fit well with the lore of both series. Now I'm not saying that any of this is 100% the case. While watching the 2011 Thundercats reboot, I noticed a few things in it that could connect the two universes. Although not made by Dreamworks, the Thundercats 2011 reboot shares a lot in common with Dreamworks' other big shows like She-Ra and Voltron in that it was an anime inspired reboot of a classic 80's cartoon with more focus on the story and involving some sort of space element. I'm probably not the first one to have thought of this, but what if She-Ra/He-man and Thundercats are actually in the same universe, and Catra is actually a Thundaran? A She-Ra/He-man and Thundercats crossover would be so cool. So I recently rewatched the 2011 Thundercats reboot (very underrated show by the way, it's a shame it got cancelled after only one season) and a crazy idea/theory came to me.
